Every day I saw great distress in the news where we have witnessed. I heard groans, cries of distress, and saw large companies of troops in active battle. I heard booming of the cannons, clashes of arms, and the hand-to-hand fight and groans and prayers of the dying. Great perils are before us yet we are not awake. We lack activity and earnestness in the cause of God. We will not be accepted or honored by God if we fail to render the service or doing the same works that our fathers did. We must imitate their faithfulness and zeal. We are the salt of the earth and we have to give savor for the life of others. We must inhabit the world with our good deeds and character.

This quote came to me last year during a very devastating time in my life. After losing four children in three pregnancies, my husband of 7 years left me due to the emotional illness that I suffered as a result of the loss of children. I was extremely devastated that he no longer wanted to be married to me, and it took every ounce of strength I could muster just to survive each day. Even the simple task of getting out of bed and getting dressed became an unbearable task. As I began to rebuild my life and encountered other struggles that seemed to never end, I realized that with the right attitude, the will to survive, and a great deal of determination, I was able to manage all of the problems that surrounded me. It is my hope that others will gain strength from this quote and muster the courage to continue another day in this life.

I came up with this quote when I was 7. I went through a hard time losing my parent; I was an orphan. I thought that I wasn't going to survive any more days of not having my family around.
