"FOR TEACHERS & EDUCATORS"
"Teachers are the earthquakes; the students are the aftershocks."
Marc Smith --- Submitted by Nikki G., Age 16 --- California
Mr. Smith was my science and math teacher. Hhe got fired for teaching the way he did. He was not like other teachers, he was unique. He treated all of his students like peers not students. I have learned so much from him. He is an inspiration. Just to meet this man is an honor but to have him teach me is more than anything I could ever want. Mr. Smith is our earthquake; we are the aftershocks --- just smile and nod.

"Luck is an ideal whereby opportunity meets preparedness and favored by correctness."

This quote was formulated after a lengthy debate on the definition and existence of luck. As I was relaxing later on trying to figure out the solution, I came up with this definition.

I sent this out to my students who recently procrastinated on an assignment.
"Education today, more than ever before, must see clearly the dual objectives: education for living and education for making a living."

"The only thing that's the 'end of the world,' is......... the end of the world!"
Written by PJ Bahr --- South Dakota
I said this to my kids as they were growing up and would come home feeling like it was "the end of the world," due to a poor grade, a teacher's pessimistic remark or a peer's "pressure."
