THE DAY THE LORD WAS WITH ME
I remember one day in particular that the Lord was with me. It was a plain summer Saturday, nothing special going on. I put my daughter in her car seat and drove to the grocery store.
After filling up our cart we strolled on over to the checkout lane, I was given my total. I realized that I didn't have enough money so I started pulling things out of the bags so the cashier could delete those items out of my total. At the end I had pulled out a pound of bananas, bacon and yogurt. Then, there he was clear as day, one of my many angels.
He told the cashier that he would pay for the items I had pulled out of the bags. I couldn't thank him enough. I then went to my car, unlocked it and tossed the keys on the passenger's seat so I wouldn't have to hold them while trying to load groceries in the car. Our driver's side door was messed up and it would lock when you shut the door, which I forgot about several times. This, was one of those times.
I had a cart full of groceries, my daughter and it was steaming hot outside. I didn't know what to do, I didn't have a clue where my husband was and he was the only one with the spare car keys. There he was, another one of my many angels in disguise. I didn't even see him standing there as I walked back into the grocery store, crying my eyes out.
He turned around and said to me, "Did you lock your keys in your car?" I was crying so uncontrollably that I could barely speak. I told him that I did lock them in the car. Well, what a coincidence that he was a locksmith and had every tool to unlock a car door! He grabbed one tool and had it open within 30 seconds. I again, couldn't thank him enough. I got in my car and thanked the Lord, still sobbing.
I wondered why? I didn't deserve to be blessed, definitely not twice within a five minute time period. I must've done something for someone that I hadn't even realized I'd done and the good Lord was just giving me a double blessing. I truly believe that this was not just a coincidence, this was the Lord showing himself to me.
I hope that everyone is blessed enough to realize when the Lord is there, standing two feet away from you. It sounds crazy but the Lord does the unpredictable and he may take the form of someone else's body to prove to you that he cares. So, my advice is be on the lookout for your angel.
