REMEMBERING THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES

We will never forget what happened on 9-11-2001 God bless all of us.

... and those they left behind

"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love."
Washington Irving

September 16, 2001I am so deeply saddened by this horrific act against the United States. Even though this tragedy took place far from my home in Texas, it hit me all the way to my soul. It was as if it happened to me and my loved ones.

Americans are known for standing together and in times like this we are all family. I pray for all the families who have suffered and wish them peace in knowing that their loved ones, who may have gone on ahead of them, have now returned home; their home with God.

I know there is nothing I can say to ease anyone's sorrow, but just to let these families know that my thoughts are with them. May all Americans hold hands and grow stronger during this time of despair and show these cowards, who tried to weaken us, that they have only made us more determined. We, after all, are Americans; the Proud, the Bold, and the Strong.

God Bless All Americans!

Terri Tomlinson --- Texas

September 16, 2001My deepest sympathy and condolences to those people who have died, been hurt and people who lost their love ones. 9-11-2001 is a day so tragic and truly unforgettable and because of that day, our lives will never be the same again.

I'M FREE

Don't grieve for me for I am now free.
I'm following the path God has laid, you see.
I took His hand when I heard His call.
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone may stay that way
But I found the peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joys.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss oh yes!
These things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
My life's been full, I savored much;
A loved one's touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with endured grief
Lift up your hearts with love and peace,
God wanted me now...He set me free...

September 16, 2001TO THE VICTIMS

My dad passed away from cancer when I was eight and now at seventeen I've had plenty of time to realize that there are going to be experiences in my life that I'll have to face everyday without him being there to help me get through them.

But to see what the rest of America is going through brings the same feeling of sadness. There are going to be families that will have to go face many of the things I have had to face and I hope that they find the strength and courage to do so.

We may not understand why this happened but we can also look around and see the nation coming together, there's hope that the sadness of yesterday will bring understanding for tomorrow.

I can only tell those people, that have lost a loved one, a few words to show that there are people out here that want you to know that if they could help, if even in some small way to take your pain away, they would.

Sincerely,

Patricia

September 16, 2001We sang these at our church service this morning, and the whole thing was very moving and emotional. I thought these words would encourage someone out there.
Love,Rose Perry --- Australia

IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE, GOD ONLY WISE

Immortal, invisible, God only wise
In light inaccessible, hid from our eyes
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of days
Almighty, victorious, Thy great name we praise
Unresting, unhasting, and silent as night
Nor wanting, nor wasting Thou rulest in might
Thy justice like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds which are fountains of goodness and love
To all, life Thou givest - to both great and small
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree
And wither and perish - but nought changes Thee
Great Father of glory, pure Father of light
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight
All praise we would render; O help us to see
'Tis only the splendour of light hideth Thee!

BE STILL MY SOUL

Be still, my soul, the Lord is on thy side
Bear patiently, the cross of grief or pain
Leave to thy God to order and provide
In every change he faithful will remain
Be still, my soul, thy best, thy heavenly friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end
Be still, my soul, thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as he has the past
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake
All now mysterious shall be bright at last
Be still, my soul, the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while he dwelt below
Be still, my soul, the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone
Sorrow forgot, love's purest joys restored
Be still, my soul, when change and tears are past
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last

JESUS SHALL REIGN

Jesus shall reign where'er the sun
Does His successive journeys run
His kingdom spread from shore to shore
Till moons shall wax and wane no more
To him shall endless prayer be made
And endless praises crown his head
His name like sweet perfume shall rise
With every morning sacrifice
People and realms of every tongue
Dwell on his love with sweetest song
And infant voices shall proclaim
Their early blessing on his name
Blessings abound where'er he reigns
The prisoner leaps to loose his chains
The weary find eternal rest
And all the sons of want are blest
Let every creature rise and bring
His grateful honours to our King
Angels descend with songs again
And earth repeat the loud amen!

PEACE, PERFECT PEACE

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin?
The blood of Jesus whispers peace within
Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed?
To do the will of Jesus, this is rest
Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round?
On Jesus' bosom naught but calm is found
Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away?
In Jesus' keeping we are safe and they
Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown?
Jesus we know, and he is on the throne
Peace, perfect peace, death shad'wing us and ours?
Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers.
It is enough; earth's struggles soon shall cease
And Jesus call us to heav'n's perfect rest.

September 15, 2001I want to say that all the relatives of the people who died Thursday have great strength. They have to or they would never make it through this ordeal. My heart goes out to you and I want share with you something that might help through those troubled times.

You have to keep your head high and take one step at a time. If your loved ones don't come back, always know that they are in a happy place right now; that they can feel no more pain and that they are waiting for you in heaven to join them at their side. Take comfort that their troubles are over and they are safe.

September 15, 2001DEDICATED TO THOSE WHO LOST LOVED ONES
IN AMERICA'S TRAGEDY

WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes
All filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how much you love me,
As much as I love you,
And each time you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please try to understand,
That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand,
And said my place was ready,
In heaven far above,
And that I'd have to leave behind
All those I dearly love.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
So much yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That I was leaving you.

I thought of all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
Just even for a while,
I'd say good-bye and kiss you
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.

And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you and when I did,
My heart was filled with sorrow.

But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When GOD looked down and smiled at me,
From His great golden throne he said,

"This is eternity, and all I've promised you.
Today for life on earth is past,
But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
But today will always last,
And since each day's the same day
There's no longing for the past.

But you have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
You knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven,
And now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
And share my life with me?"

So when tomorrow starts without me,
Don't think we are far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.

September 15, 2001I Am

I am your brother, your sister, your neighbor, your friend
And the spirit rising across this great land
I am the heroes emerging, with arms strong and brave
And the tears that fall on each innocent grave

I am the churches still standing with doors open wide
And the stranger who draws you close to his side
I am the hue and the cry of a nation in pain
And the strength to rise and be noble again

I am the courage that wakens to face life anew
And gives comfort in glimpsing the red, white and blue
I am your fathers who fought for the freedom you love
And the eagle that soars on the wings of a dove

I am the statue who holds freedom's torch to the sky
And mothers who hold children close while they cry
I am the hand reaching out to help those in need
And a people who live up to democracy's creed

I am the reason, the season, the hope and the light
The beginning, the ending, the might and the right
I AM what brings you to bended knees
Not the enemy, who tries with atrocities

September 15, 2001It's almost impossible to find the words to express what's in my heart. One day, One attack, One September 11, 2001... Much pain, Much shock, Much terror, Many dead, Many wounded, Many wept, Faith persists, Hope insists, Love exists, God watches, Angels guard, We pray.

September 15, 2001Fear not, say the Lord, for I have redeemed you and I have called you by name. You are mine, when you walk through the fire you will not be burnt and when you walk through the waters you will not drown. If God is for us who then can be against us?

Our Heavenly Father promises us in His Holy Word that He will never leave nor forsake us. Even when we walk in the shadow of death and destruction - He is there, just call upon His name and He will comfort you and give you peace - the peace that no man can give.

Praise God for His goodness and mercies endure forever. Trust in the Lord and give thanks to Him in and through all circumstances.Yours in Christ Jesus,

September 14, 2001Although separated by thousands of miles of water, please know that you're not alone. We ALL grieve about these insane acts of terror. This doesn't reflect America; this is a matter of us all. I sincerely hope that after America laid her victims to rest the entire world will go after those who are responsible.

Today, at 12:00 hrs., our entire nation stood still and at attention, all flags halfway while the US embassy was loaded with flowers and burning candles. Public transportation, cars, bikers, pedestrians, all stopped and everyone was facing the Stars and Stripes, thinking of that horrible moment of terror.

As said, you're not alone and be assured that you all are in our minds and prayers. God Bless,

September 14, 2001My Friends,
This is something I appreciated, and I thought you also would like to read it. I appreciate this Canadian, and you might too.God also loves you.

A TRIBUTE TO THE UNITED STATES
This, from a Canadian newspaper, is worth sharing.

America: The Good Neighbor.

Widespread but only partial news coverage was given recently to a remarkable editorial broadcast from Toronto by Gordon Sinclair, a Canadian television commentator. What follows is the full text of his trenchant remarks as printed in the Congressional Record:

"This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as the most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States.

When France was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it.

When earthquakes hit distant cities, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped.

The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars! into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans.

I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tri-Star, or the Douglas DC10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American Planes?

Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you findmen on the moon -! not once, but several times - and safely home again.

You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here.

When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the Americans who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke.

I can name you 5000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake.

Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those."

Stand proud, America!

September 14, 2001THE COLORS OF OUR NATION

Red, White and Blue
That is the color of Me and You
All together we stand
Side by side, hand in hand
As the whole nation is in dismay
Together let us all pray
Pray for the ones we have lost
Pray for the friends and families it has cost
Pray for the ones who are still alive today
Pray that all the pain will go away

Red, White and Blue
That is the color of Me and You
Let us raise our FLAG into the sky
Together as one let us keep our heads held high
United together as we stand
We will fight for our land
For as together united as one
We will never forget what has been done
We will seek deep in our hearts
Courage, Faith and Love to start
Start to protect our land and loved ones
United together we will see that justice is done
We will fight for all we love
And pray to the good Lord above

Red, White and Blue
That is the color of Me and You
All together we stand
Raise our FLAG and reach for a hand
Hold tight, don't let go
For we still have pride to show
God bless us all
And we promise one another we will not fall.

September 14, 2001A POEM FOR PEACE

Our nation's innocence is lost,
Stolen by acts of hate.
Helpless people paid the cost,
For them it is too late.

Daughters, sons, husbands, wives,
Sisters, friends and brothers.
All of them have lost their lives,
To senseless acts of others.

New York's city has been defaced.
Bodies lay in rubble.
They can never be replaced.
But war won't end our trouble.

Angers only escalate,
As we point out the guilt.
Violence will perpetuate.
While we dig through the silt.

Cries of anger, cries for war,
Echo in the air.
As if our bombs and missiles soar,
It will make it fair.

People claim eye for an eye
Our nation wants to fight.
If their innocent people die,
Then will that make US right?

Punishment surely must take place.
These murderers must pay.
But they are groups and not a race.
Keep liberty in mind, each day.

We are people of goodwill,
Of truth and love and light.
Please give thought before you kill,
Take heed before you fight.

We ask, what do we tell our children?
How do we give them ease?
Reactions set examples for them,
Should we not teach them peace?

September 14, 2001I DON'T LOOK BACK

I don't look back, God knows the fruitless efforts
The wasted hours, the sinning, the regrets
I leave them all with Him who holds the records
In mercy He forgives and then forgets

I don't look forward, God sees all the future
The road that short or long will lead me home
And He will face with me its every trial
And bear with me the burdens that may come

I don't look round me, thus would fears assail me
So wild the tumult of earth's restless seas
So dark the world, so filled with woe and evil
So vain the hope of comfort or of care

I don't look in, for there I am most wretched
Myself has nought on which to stay my trust
Nothing I see but failures and shortcomings
And weak endeavours crumbling into dust

But I look up into the face of Jesus
For there my heart can rest, my fears are stilled
And there is hope and joy and light for darkness
And perfect peace, and every hope fulfilled

September 14, 2001Today, after yesterday's horrific act, the city of NY is crying and mourning the loss of many of our people. This act of terror have shaken our souls, but among all these pain, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I live a few miles away from the beautiful view of a live and light up NYC. Tonight, those lights are not shining as the first times my eyes saw it. I am so angry at those who acted in such an evil mind but among all this tragedy and among all this pain this country is going through, God has united us in a mutual pain and have brought us together to realize that among all these evil events, he is God and the only one who can comfort us.

To many this statement might not make sense but I know in my heart that He will bring to those who are suffering, peace and conformity to be able to accept this tragedy and learn from it. This nation is known for its strength and its power and also known for taking part on noble and honorable acts of bravery. Like our pledge of allegiance say " I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States Of American and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under GOD, Indivisible WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL".

Let our pledge say it all. Let God guide you and heal you and let him take control, lets pray that the knowledge our God has given tothis country; to our government, bring to our hearts the tranquility of liberty and justice to all us. Lets pray that who ever brought this pain to our hearts be found and justice be serve to all. GOD BLESS US ALL!

September 14, 2001Dearest American Citizens,

I'm from the southeast part of Argentina, and even here, so far from you, we all grieve for what has happened last Tuesday. We know how much a country may suffer because of such an inconceivable attack; we've experienced it years ago when our Jewish community was attacked and many innocent people died. We're still trying to find who did it, and until that moment we'll continue feeling the pain of a nation that was hurt by violence. We know what you feel; and we're all are praying for you to receive the peace that can only come through Christ.

In all of the countries, far from the United States, we pray that President George Bush will be inspired to do what is better for your nation and the entire world. We all pray for peace, we don't want this horrible act to be paid with more violence, we pray that peace can dwell on earth once again.

As a Christian, and as most of people do, I pray for those who are grieving to feel comforted, for those who lead you, to be inspired not to cause the same pain in other nations, and for those who did this horrid thing to be paid by the Lord and men's justice with what they deserve. May the Lord bless you with peace and the certainty that all of the victims are now by His side and that you'll be together for eternity with them once again. From my heart and with all my prayers.

September 14, 2001In remembrance of Tuesday, September 11, 2001 when time as we know it, changed forever.

TIME

There are supposed to be 24 hours in each day, 60 minutes in each hour, and 60 seconds in each minute, yet since that Tuesday, time has been redefined.

Minutes are counted in tears that have been shed
and hours are measured in lives that were lost
and days struggle to even be recognized
amidst the blur of pain and suffering.

Time is said to be relative, and that is the only thing that remains true
For it is all about relatives, and family, and friends, both here,
and in the United States, both known, and unknown

Each tick of my watch signals moments that have forever been lost, dreams that have died, passions yet to be realized, kisses yet to be given, hugs that will never be shared, and breaths that will never be taken

Each tick of my watch signals the unleashing of immense canyons of pain and suffering, of floods of tears being shed, of hearts of all ages and all sizes being broken, and of the mammoth emptiness which envelopes us all

And each tick of my watch also signals that if I am aware that time is still ticking, I must still be here.

To experience the pain and share what I can of myself with others.

To pray for my unknown friends who have lost their lives and for the ones still living, who have lost their spirit.

To cry once more, and yet again, and then to move amidst the ashes and make friends with the fear and the pain that will always be there from now on.

To look at children who still claim their innocence, and for a moment, revel in their simplicity.

To listen to the different songs the birds sing, until I find one that is right for me.

To breathe deeper, and inhale the strength of life, with each breath.

To live better, and kinder, and more compassionately.

To kiss harder, hug stronger, and love deeper.

And to remember that it is still okay to laugh, and to cry, and to let go, and to heal.

September 14, 2001I was shocked to hear the devastating news. It is really a horrendous act of a coward - more than barbaric. An act done by a soulless person. My heart goes out to you and all the Americans and especially to those whose loved ones perished in the recent barbaric attacks. No amount of words can take away the pain and trauma each and everyone of you are going through right now. Let us join hands and pray for those who have perished - MAY GOD BLESS THEIR SOULS and let's pray to God to give strength to those who have lost their loved ones. Let's pray for peace on Earth and an end to terrorism. My deepest condolences,

September 13, 2001At the age of 1, I lost my mother in a tragic car accident where I received massive head injuries but survived. I came to know the Lord as my Savior at the age of 12 and began to put my life into perspective. At the age of 14, I met the most amazing christian guy. He showed me what it really meant to serve the Lord. He too was taken from this world at the age of 18, but his spirit shines through me in a way I could never have imagined before. The Lord promises us in Jeremiah 29:11 that everything happens for a reason and he knows the plans, and they are for good and not for evil. Although it is so hard to see this perspective in such times of despair, we must have faith in our Lord Jesus Christ!

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord.
"They are plans for good and not for evil,
To give you a future and a hope."

September 13, 2001NATIONAL PRAYER

Lord, we come to You on bended knee,
heads bowed and our hearts filled to overflowing
with so much grief for the many people who have
been injured and killed in our National crisis.

We ask you Lord, to give courage
and strength to those who so bravely
go to their aid. And though their hearts will
be heavy and filled with sorrow we ask Lord
that You give them the endurance needed
to help them through this difficult task.

Please give us the strength Lord,
to get through each difficult and devastating
day that faces each of us and our country.
Protect and guide our Military that
are now being called to duty.

We ask Lord, that You guide the leaders
of our great country in their hour of decision.
The burden that has been placed on their
shoulders during this crisis is overwhelming.
We ask that with Your infinite wisdom You
guide them gently to the right decisions.

And lastly Lord, we ask that You
allow us all to come together as a Nation,
to stand tall and united, so that we might
help each other in our hour of need.

September 13, 2001I would like to let America know how much of an impact the tragic eventsof yesterday had even all the way over here in Adelaide, South Australia.

We share your heartache, your tears, your hope and your fears. Eventhough we are not there physically, in our minds we are holding yourhands as you walk through the rubble, we are wiping away the tears youshed and we are lighting the candles when you can no longer see.

America is a strong country and we know that justice will be served uponthose who dared mess with her (those bloody idiots). We stand proudly byyour side and we look to tomorrow with you and your families. Peace bewith us all,

September 13, 2001In light of yesterday's events, I went online to findinspirational quotes and came upon your sight. I loved it and wanted toshare two poems that someone gave to me after a very close friend died in acar accident... I changed the first one slightly and read it at a memorialservice we held for my friend Ali. I hope that someone can take comfort inthese words, like I did. Thank you for having such a beautiful site.I am glad that I found it in this time when our whole country is so much inneed.

You are with me, waking and sleeping-
Like a thousand memories and dreams I carry with me, day and night.
Death is nothing at all.
You have only slipped into the next room.
Whatever we were to each other, we are still.
I will call you by your old familiar name,
Speak to you in the easy way I always used to.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of you, pray for you.
I will let your name be the household name it always was.
I'll let it be spoken without effort.
Why should you be out of our minds because you are out of our sight?
You are but waiting for us, for an interval, somewhere near, just around the corner.
There will be a time when all will be as it was before, only better,
Infinitely happier and forever for we will all be together again.

AFTERGLOW

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one,
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when the day is gone.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times, and laughing times, and bright sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun,
Of happy memories I leave when life is done.

September 12, 2001I am an occasional visitor to your website in my troubled moments. I am an Indian living in India.I have never been to the US and do not know anyone here except for relatives who live in NewJersey. I am writing to you with the hope of reaching out to the families of all innocent souls wholost their lives in the senseless attack on your noble country.

I have sat before the TV for the whole night and cried tears of frustration.

I am not a coward but I cringe with horror every time I think of the horrifying end of theinnocents involved.

I am not vengeful but pray that God disowns the cowards who pulled innocents in theirsenseless acts of violence, I pray they are consigned to a place far worse than hell.

I am at loss for words as nothing I or anyone else says can take even a fraction ofyour countrymen's pain away.

May God give Americans strength to tide over this immensely distressing time.

September 12, 2001There is nothing anyone can say to comfort any of the families affected bythis tragedy, nor to comfort those who know some of the victims that haspassed away. We can all only pray for their souls, that our Lord God maybless them.

There is though, a lot to do, and I agree with the President, to hunt thisuncivilized animals. Once they are found, they should be killed, themselves, and their whole entire families and clan friends. If one ofthem remains alive, they will rise against civilization again. We are inthe year 2001AD and some uncivilized people are still living as if they werein the year 4000BC.

MAY GOD HAVE MERCY IN ALL OF US, AND BLESS EACH ONE OF US.

September 12, 2001Yesterday, what happened, cannot be described in words. It was the most horrifying act of hatred against humanity. What we all witnessed sitting at are homes and workplaces cannot measure at all to what our brothers and sisters who were there must have experienced.

Being thousands of miles away, I felt a tremendous feeling of helplessness. There was no way I could possibly think of through which I could have been there for the victims and the families and friends of those who lost their lives.

But I was wrong, since right now what all of us, who physically cannot be a source of comfort for them, can do is PRAY for them. SO let us all pray to GOD to help them get through these testing times and surround them with His love and comfort. The loss we have suffered cannot be compensated but what we can do is to unite and stand as one, to always support the truth and the right cause.

September 11, 2001As the events of this morning unfold, and lives and hearts are shattered and taken from this earth, I sit here writing and feel the need to share my thoughts and words with you. We are now a nation that grieves together.

This is a day that America will add to its list of the most heart wrenching, sad and devastating days in the history of America.

At 8:03 this morning still sleeping unaware when a very dear friend of mine called. Shaken and unable to think straight, all he could say was " It's horrible Honey, just horrible". Just from his voice I knew something of great proportions was wrong.

He told me to turn on the TV that Twin Towers had been hit. I turned on my television still groggy from being asleep to see the most devastating thing I have ever witnessed in my life. Twin Towers falling towards the ground with people jumping out of windows and screams filling my head.

The phone rang again. It was my daughter. She called from school to ask if we had any family in New York & among those that have departed from this earth, or that might be among those injured. I replied from my heart, " Honey, everyone of those lives lost, every one of those lives that have been injured, and all of those affected by this sadness, are all of them our family".

Today every member of the American family grieves. The heart of America has forever been changed. Changed by the screams coming from and around Twin Towers and throughout the US and the World.

As smoke fills the city
And cries fill the streets
As Angels on the ground
Try to rescue and relieve
For those who started this morning
At the airport and at work
Not knowing that today
Thousands would leave this earth
They are our brothers and sisters
Our parents, our daughters, our sons
They are the heart of America
We will all miss them very much

God we pray for Peace on Earth!
