"You can lead a horse to water and you CAN make him drink... if you stimulate his thirst. A horse is not going to drink unless he wants to. The key is to make him want to drink. Give the horse a sugar cube; let him taste what it is like. Then take another cube and slowly put it in the water. The horse will drink the water to get to the cube. He now drinks the sugary water. Why? Because you stimulated his thirst for the cube. THAT is the key to getting what you want in business. Give the consumer a taste of what they want and they will follow. They don't know what they always want on their own so, it is up to us to stimulate the thirst for it."

I selected this one because it was what I came up with when my college professor tried to teach us that you couldn't lead a horse to water and make him drink. This was a psychology class. I realized that with proper stimulation, you could get anyone to do anything you want. It is just a matter of time, understanding, patience, and ability. By the way, I got an A grade in the class after I wrote that saying. It was a lesson on how to make classical conditioning into operant conditioning. I have used that saying as a model in business, and with great success.
